The above source code includes the function sortrows which is designed to sort the rows with respect to a given column. Polynomial curve fitting was carried out using the functions polyfit and polyval. The variables which were set once for all the analysed images included the threshold responsible for the division of the contour into clusters, p r4 = ±2 pixels, and the tolerance threshold with respect to which the contour points are counted, p r5 = ±10 pixels (see Fig. 3.5). The degree of the polynomial p r6 was set at 8 taking into account the anthropometric data. Other (mainly lower) polynomial degrees give incorrect results. Figure 3.6 shows two different results for different values ​​of the polynomial degree.
